About the
artist
Joseph Tany (signs YOS) -has shown his painting in galleries
since 1976. His work has completeness but is amazingly vibrant in its
inner quality. Trine Density
stands for this controversial quality. One of his main theme in this
show is 'Two to One'. Metamorphasing any 'Two' into a new 'One'. Or
vica versa, splitting the One in Two. He searches for elements to interact.
Letting them play in the same neighborhood, pulling them together and
building a new significant field of energy. This new field eventually
resembles figures, landscape or abstract. Still, they all are energy
fields. Trine-density fields. People's movement, conflict and love.
Landscape in its atmosphere, structure and promise. Abstract that is
movement and emotion with multi dimensional space. All are the Energy
Field. All are emotions. Besides painting, Joseph Tany writes poetry,
plays music and sculpts. He bakes, sails boats, and designs web sites.
* * *
The paintings of Joseph Tany ( YOS ) are intense
with daring colors, wide brush strokes and high emotion, yet it's the
intimacy of his work that catches us off-guard. In Orange Turned Face
we first sense the strength of the woman's character and the conflict
that invades her, then swiftly she turns with that look on her face,
and her vulnerability is exposed. This artist does not paint for the
passive viewer. His subjects are not overt or obvious. In Lilian the
abstractness of his dots and lines grab our attention before making
way to reveal a charming woman sitting. His strong, evocative art is
suggestive of ancient ways where we hide our real feelings, but told
anew through high energy and transformation.

Statement: Painting may say it all. It is
reflexive to the solar plexus stream of life - the ever pouring fountain
of colors from our hearts. One can compose an experience depending on
this natural parallel phenomena. Plus there are new understanding and
conceptions echoed in our time, building a new mental awareness in this
respect. All together, Painting may say it all.
