| Tom Nuzum is a mature artist whose vision was formed in the San Francisco Bay area during the 1960's. After a period of time spent teaching in various parts of the Midwest, he finally settled in Michigan near the city of Flint, where the wildlife, marshes and lakes surrounding his home and studio provide some of the images for his pictorial ideas. | ![]() Acrilic on canvas $ 4,000 © 1999s Nuzum |

At times the finished pieces
remain close to the original starting point; at others, the work involves
more comples mixing of images and starting shifts in space and mood.
His newest pieces often include a self-portrait. Tom is a lyrical painter whose painting ultimately is about the power of paint, color and drawing to achieve something that might persist in the mind of the viewer. He is aware of the many things that art has been and can be and acts from that awareness with little cynicism. He is unafraid of beauty. |
